Social skills is a small group process of learning how to get along with others in a group and one-on-one. It is designed for those students who are in kindergarten through 5th grade. Concepts are taught in a small group setting and then generalized into mainstream classes. We work on perspective taking, what does expected and unexpected behaviors look like, how to keep our brain and body in the group, proper etiquette to winning and losing at game playing, what are friendship seeds and friendship begones, as well as other social concepts that may come easily to some, yet may be a need for guided practice for others.
