Each week a newsletter will be sent home via the electronic mail list service or, if a hard copy is needed, in the Friday Folder. It will provide you with information on what's happened in our classroom, and keep you posted on events in the weeks to come. | 4 | Third Grade Curriculum Topics:
Please visit our 3rd grade CURRICULUM page for further information. • Math: Fraction, geometry, time, data & graphing, place value and money, measurement • Language Arts: Guided reading, independent reading, writers workshop • Writing: Personal narratives, summary writing, pen pal letters, cursive • Science: measurement (metric), magnets and electricity, earth materials, structures of life • Health • Social Studies: Time for Kids (current events), immigration, geography, and MORE! • Technology: Tux Paint, Microsoft Word, Typing, Kidspiration, PowerPoint • Word Study: Grade 3 Must Know Words - using them in our daily writing. Please check your child's weekly newsletter for Word Study Testing Dates and their self selected words in their planner.

Specialists: in 3rd grade, we are on a six-day cycle in which the specialist classes rotate amongst the following classes: • Physical Education • Spanish or Chinese • Art • Music • Communications & Cultures
