      Keeping in touch with you:

      Each month a newsletter will be sent home via the electronic mail list service or, if a hard copy is needed, in the Friday Folder. It will provide you with information on what's happening at our school, and keep you posted on events in the weeks to come.             What are we learning?

            Reading

            Read for 30 minutes each night
            Writing

            We are building stamina for 30 minutes through a free write process. Students have a list of topics they can write about, including writing about their reading.
            Math

            Blue math packet- due on the last day of each school week
            We are working on basic addition and subtraction strategies, finding patterns, and reading bar graphs and venn diagrams.
            Word Study
            Students are being tested on the first 300 high frequency words for third grade. Word Study spelling will begin the first week of October for most students.
            Science/Social Studies/Engineering

            We are studying the habitat, structures, and behaviors of crayfish.
