Welcome to Ms. Alexander's Art Class!
From the beginning of time, making Art has always been a vital and wonderfully satisfying part of being human! Creating hands-on projects allows students to experience the concepts they study! Basic building blocks of Art are the focus for each unit as we use Artistic Vocabulary including the Art Elements, Design Principles, and more. Project Lessons present creative problem-solving strategies and require inventive thinking, using a variety of Art Styles and Forms of Art including Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture. Students experience the mental and tactile contrasts of working with many types of Art Media. With an emphasis on personal expression, students learn techniques they can use to bring their ideas from a basic concept to finished artwork of high quality craftsmanship. Students invited to let their imaginations soar as they are challenged to work with CARE: Original CREATIVITY, An Open-minded ATTITUDE, Show RESPECT & RESPONSIBILITY, and Give Honest EFFORT.
