    Announcements for September:

Lessons will begin on Wednesday, September 14.  Students need to bring their instrument, lesson book, and filled in and signed practice chart to their first lesson.

Student instruments should not be left overnight at school. Please be sure that all cases are clearly labeled with the student name. If instruments are left overnight 3 times (per trimester), the student will be assigned detention.

      Band Tips:

About practicing: Young students often find the discipline of practice to be frustrating. If your student is having trouble practicing consistently, try the following.

      1. Schedule a consistent time for daily practice. Have consistent practice be the expectation in your home.

      2. To avoid parent/child conflicts, try to let your student take ownership of their practice (within reason).

      3. Feel free to contact your child's lesson teacher if practice problems persist.

The discipline of responsible practice is a gradual process for many. Be patient with your child when things are not going as well as you would like.
