Spanish 7

Flashcard study is mandatory. It is the KEY to success in Spanish class! You are required to study at least 15 minutes at least 5 days a week. Students fill out their Vocabulary Study Record, get parent signatures and turn it in every 2 weeks.

Students with internet access should:
*Go to www.classzone.com.
*Click on (1) Middle School World Languages, (2) MN, and (3) GO
*Choose Avancemos 1a (Avancemos 1 is for 8th grade)
*Under Online Review, click on Flashcards

Students without internet access are required to create hard copy flashcards for each unit (recipe cards/index cards work best). Because of the extra effort involved, the students who create hard copy flashcards will be given 3 points of extra credit. Students with internet access can choose to make these as well.

Here is our recommended way to study flashcards….
Step 1: Look at Spanish words and say English words out loud
Step 2: Look at English words and say Spanish words out loud
Step 3: Look at English words and write out Spanish words (you can do this on scratch paper or in an old notebook)
**You may move onto the next step when you have mastered the step you are on. Each step should take approximately 1 to 2 weeks of daily study.

EXTRA CREDIT: Students can complete the activities listed below for extra credit. The activities will only be given extra credit if they are completed during the trimester listed. Activities must be completed online at Classzone.com and their results sent to me via email (tracy.hansen@district196.org). Students were shown how to do this at the beginning of the year.
