WINTER ATHLETIC INFORMATION:
Winter Sports at Scott Highlands Middle School are available to all 7th and 8th grade students. Winter Athletics consist of 3 Seasons, Winter I, II, and III, allowing students to experience more than one sport throughout the winter months.
Winter season schedule:
Winter I: Wrestling and Girls Basketball November 2nd - December 18th Winter II: Boys Basketball January 4th – February 26th Winter III: Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving March 1st – April 16th
Registration window for each winter seasons begins 1-2 weeks prior to that season start date and ends on the start date.
Registration Needs: 1.“General Registration and Parent’s Permit and Health Questionnaire” 2. Current Physical on file at SHMS 3. Supervision responsibility form 4. Fee: $50:00 5. All forms can be found on the left side of this page
Athletic practices are typically held from 3:00 to 5:00 Monday-Friday. Athletes can expect one to two competitions/games each week after the first week or two of practice. Games will typically last until 5:00 or 6:00pm, depending on the sport and where it is being played. Activity Busses are available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and depart SHMS at 5:00pm.

2009-2010 Winter II Sports Registration Only registrations for Boys Basketball will be accepted
- December 21, 22 and 23 from 7:30-8:00 am

Wednesday January 6th at 8:00 a.m. is the absolute deadline for registrations. Under no circumstances will registrations or refunds will be accepted or provided after Wednesdayday at 8:00.

Team photos
Pictures for winter 2 sports will be taken on Friday January 15th.
Students will receive order forms via their coaches the week of pictures. Additional forms are located in the main office |

Equipment/Uniform Policy
All equipment issued to your student is considered District 196 property. Your student is 100% responsible for returning the uniform and any equipment that has been issued to them by their coach at the end of the season. Please understand that theft does occur and that securing your equipment safely each night is essential. Theft does not constitute a mitigating circumstance and while unfortunate individuals will still be held financially liable for equipment that is not returned. |
